Since the dawn of time, it is a natural state of affairs for all creatures to migrate from place to place in order to survive and to make a better existence for themselves. Mankind is no different. People move from one place to another for a variety of reasons.
Sooner or later, most dedicated genealogists reach the point at which they have exhausted their migration research in the country where their ancestors settled and lived. They are intrigued by learning where their families originated and how they got to where they settled. Migration and immigration becomes a new research focus. Different methodologies and record types become important, and international historical research becomes extremely important.
