Welcome to the Intermediate Genealogical Research course! This course is a self-study learning experience concentrating on United States research. The methodologies and principles discussed, however, will be applicable to research in most areas of the world and to most ethnic groups, although each area differs in specific types and formats of records. Some records also are specific to individual geographic or ethnic research. This course does not address ships’ passenger lists, immigration and naturalization records, military, and other more advanced record types and research. It does not focus on Internet research, per se, although some Internet websites are included. These and other topics will be covered in other written and video training materials at the Genealogy Guys Learn website. In the meantime, Cyndi’s List at https://www.cyndislist.com/ is a tremendous resource of web links to resources to help your research. The FamilySearch Research Wiki at https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Main_Page is also an excellent resource.
