Lesson 5: Courthouses

0%

Lesson Overview

Not everything is on the Internet. The vast majority of records and evidence are still held in many types of repositories. Courthouses, as we’ve discussed earlier, are key government repositories which issued and/or recorded legal documents. This lesson will introduce you to the role of courthouses in your research and a variety of record types to be found and accessed there. The caveat is that we will not address many, many types of records held in courthouses. It is incumbent on you to learn more through reading, study, and experience to learn more about the records described in this lesson and beyond.
